Are you interested in finding more ways to share love in the world? I’ve got a few that you can try today!

There’s a song from the 60s that was written by Burt Bacharach that speaks an important truth that’s still relevant today. What the world needs now is love, sweet love. We live in a time when we are more connected technologically, and yet we are more disconnected personally. Many people are starved for genuine affection and connection. And we need it!

When you receive and share love, it is good for your health!

Giving and receiving love and affection have a powerful impact on physical and mental health. Regular affection from others can reduce stress and anxiety, lower depression, boost the immune system, and even help relieve pain. But most people do not get enough love and affection. The good news is that it’s easy to begin sharing more love in the world!

Here are some ways you can share love

Give Hugs

It’s easy to underestimate the healing power of a hug. And so many people have a hug deficit. Humans require at least four hugs a day just to survive. And many people get far fewer hugs than that. If you see someone you know struggling, ask them if they need a hug.

Listen

Show love by truly listening to others. Sometimes, people just need someone to listen to them without judgment or interruption.

Give Compliments

Genuine compliments can uplift someone’s spirits and make them feel appreciated and loved.

Volunteer

Offer your time and skills to volunteer for causes you care about. Whether it’s helping at a local soup kitchen, tutoring students, or participating in environmental cleanups, volunteering spreads love by making a positive impact in your community.

Express Gratitude

Take the time to express gratitude to the people in your life. Let them know how much you appreciate them and the things they do for you.

Share love through sharing kindness

Simple acts of kindness like holding the door open for someone, offering a smile, or lending a helping hand can brighten someone’s day and spread positivity. Surprise someone with a random act of kindness, like buying a stranger’s coffee, leaving an encouraging note for someone to find, or paying for someone’s meal.

Forgive

Letting go of grudges and forgiving others can free both parties from negative emotions and promote healing and understanding.

Spread Positivity

Share positive messages, quotes, or stories on social media or with friends and family. Positivity is contagious!

Be Present

Show and share love by being fully present in the moment when spending time with loved ones. Put away distractions and give them your undivided attention.

Self-Love

Finally, don’t forget to show love to yourself. Take care of your physical, emotional, and mental well-being, and practice self-compassion and self-care. You have to fill your cup first before you share love with others!

These are just a few ways to share love in the world, but there are countless other ways to spread kindness, compassion, and positivity wherever you go. I will be sharing a lot more things you can do soon, so check back for more ideas soon!

Hi, I’m Kathy!
I discovered I’m autistic and ADHD (AuDHD) in midlife—right in the thick of menopause and a full-on identity unraveling. Now, I’m on a journey to unmask, heal, and rediscover who I really am. This blog is where I share the messy, magical path of being neurodivergent in midlife, and finally coming home to myself.
