My Playlist

There comes a point in midlife where the noise of the world just feels louder. Louder than it used to. Louder than we can comfortably hold in our bodies. For those of us with AuDHD, that noise doesn’t just live outside of us. It hums through our nervous system, often leaving us overstimulated, exhausted, and craving relief we can’t quite name. This playlist was created as a soft landing place

The music here is 8D audio, a style of sound designed to move gently from ear to ear, creating a spacious, immersive experience. Instead of feeling flat or overwhelming, the sound feels almost like it’s circling you, giving your brain something rhythmic and predictable to follow. For an AuDHD nervous system that is constantly scanning, processing, and absorbing, that predictability can be deeply regulating.

8D music can help soothe sensory overload by engaging both sides of the brain in a balanced way. It offers just enough stimulation to keep the mind from spiraling, while simultaneously signaling safety to the nervous system. Many AuDHD listeners find that it helps quiet racing thoughts, ease emotional intensity, and create a sense of grounded presence — especially during moments of anxiety, shutdown, burnout, or hormonal shifts common in midlife.

This playlist isn’t meant to fix you. You were never broken.

It’s simply an invitation to pause. To breathe. To let your body unclench a little. And to give your nervous system a reminder that it doesn’t have to be on high alert all the time.

Come sit here whenever you need.

Hi, I’m Kathy!
I discovered I’m autistic and ADHD (AuDHD) in midlife—right in the thick of menopause and a full-on identity unraveling. Now, I’m on a journey to unmask, heal, and rediscover who I really am. This blog is where I share the messy, magical path of being neurodivergent in midlife, and finally coming home to myself.
