One of my favorite beverages during the month of December is this Yule spiced tea. It not only tastes amazing, but is a magickal part of the season as well!
Yule is celebrated each year on the darkest day of the year in the northern hemisphere…the winter solstice. It is also the start of the coldest part of the year for many in the Northern Hemisphere. Yule is the celebration of the return of the sun as the days begin to lengthen and we move towards spring. It signifies rebirth and is a great time of year to cuddle up on the couch, light some candles, turn on the lights to the Yule tree, and spend some time in introspection.
It is also the perfect time to make a hot cup of tea. This Yule spiced tea recipe uses spices that are commonly associated with the season. They are rich, aromatic, and
Magickal properties of the ingredients in this tea
Everything that you eat and drink can also have not only healing but magickal properties as well.
Cinnamon is a fiery spice. It represents the sun and is perfect to use in Yuletide food and drinks to symbolize the sun’s return. Its magickal properties include healing, abundance, success, and love.
Cloves are a very protective spice. They are thought to clear negative energy. They are also associated with love, abundance, and prosperity.
Ginger is healing, both medicinally, and magickally as well. It can boost the energy of any spell and speed up the manifestation of your intention.
Oranges are commonly used during Yule to represent the sun and the promise of the sun’s return after the long dark winter.
Setting Your Intention
One great way to use this tea for spell work is to write down an intention on a bay leaf and add the bay leaf when simmering the other herbs. Just strain the bay leaf out with the other herbs before drinking. This is a great tea for protection, to increase spiritual power or for manifesting abundance!
